hi theatre chaps,
how many of you work with/for/alongside/despite funding organisations that seem to do more damage than good?
perhaps they are "staffed by people who just don't understand process"...
perhaps
they are run by "project managers who don't trust artists to get it
right and so cook up projects themselves and then get the artists in to
deliver badly designed projects that have no substance"...
perhaps they are staffed by people who are "not creatives and therefore don't get it"......
perhaps "they just get their mates in"...
perhaps
"they don't consider themselves to be funding organisations but are
'brokers', dealing between the mad artists and the public"...
perhaps
"they are rubbish artists themselves who can only get admin jobs and
then hate real artists and then they get these jobs and they take
over".....
We have heard a great deal of comment like this from
artists and practitioners over ther last few months and we think that
it's time to give it a little air on here....
What do you think?
What experiences have you had?
Are people just moaning?
Please come in and post to the forum... click on the image to go straight there
with love
