"Well, I'm definitely loving the website and use it nearly every week when I'm planning lessons - exercises are great..... it's very useful, so thank you both for putting it out there in cyber space!"
Alice Flynn. Actor/Practitioner
This site, developed by Nicola Rosewarne (WILDWORKS, Kneehigh) and Benjamin Dunks (WILDWORKS, Coisceim Dance Theatre, Protein Dance, ADT), began its life a little over three years ago in response to the demand for workshop 'stuff' from our many students and colleagues.... this new version of the site was launched in November 2009.
The evolving body of work, gathered and grown from very many people and places during a combined 30 years of professional work in theatre and dance, mainly consists of training exercises that have been developed to encourage a sense of ease and playfulness in performance, combined with generosity, awareness, stamina, discipline and rigour.
These are all highly transferable skills that make sense in any group situation not just a Theatre one. They encourage quick, bold and playful responses to stimulus and they also encourage an attitude where one is as responsible for the whole in a group situation as one is to the self.
All of the games and techniques onsite can be played on many levels. We have done variations on all of this work with many different groups of people from 'hard core' Theatre professionals through to very young children.
We stress that these are only starting points. Take these ideas, play with them, thrash them out and change them. They are not set in stone. These games and techniques will and should evolve according to the groups of people that play with them..…please know that you will not find 'schemes of work' and 'lesson plans' in here. We have both archived and developed the raw material - how you use it is in your own unique gift...and you are most welcome to join us!
"This bank of resources is continually growing, each section contains ideas and exercises explained with startling clarity in such a way that they are suitable for experienced and new practitioners alike. If you are going to invest in one resource at just £12.50 a year this is extra-ordinary value for money!"
Jo Somervell. Lecturer in Drama and Arts in education, University of Cambridge

Inside this very practical book you will find some really brilliant, tried and tested theatre games, movement techniques, bodywork ideas and physical games designed to get people moving.
It is written in an informal, easy to read style with a large font so that you can sling it on the floor and still read it when you are working.. and it has lots of space in it for you to write your own notes as you work.
